Sept. 8, 2010 update: NOT Available for the moment. I've completed my schedule and I have no free time.
I'm an EFL teacher who's been teaching English in a variety of jobs in Madrid since 1993. I made my start as an English teacher a couple of years before that as a volunteer in Tulsa, Oklahoma (USA) and as a substitute teacher in Tulsa Public Schools. I have taught children in elementary and high schools, in academies, with private students, for agencies in companies and for the past 5 years before last year almost 80-90% in small and medium-sized companies for myself. For the last year, I have been teaching general English to nurses and physical therapists at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid. I have used a variety of materials and taught all levels from absolute beginner to Proficiency. Schools and agencies I have worked directly for in Madrid: BBVA (top executives), Englishjet.com, Atlas (in Abbot Pharmaceuticals, ALCOA.), SEK in Universidad Camilo José Cela, etc.
Since 1999 to the present I've been editing and producing content on MadridTeacher.com. I am the owner, editor and webmaster of this site, which has several member teachers producing content. The site currently advertises 40 language schools and 65 freelance English teachers in Spain and has hundreds of pages of content for English teachers, as well as hundreds of interactive English learning activities for students. The site received over 1,000,000 visits the last time I checked in 2008.
As I mentioned, I have written much of the content on MadridTeacher.com and I have published two articles in the American travel magazine “Transitions Abroad,” which can also be found online on their webpage at TranstionsAbroad.com. In addition, I have experience working with Cambridge University Press translating two complete Teachers’ Guides from the “Cool English” series, proofreading two other books from the same series and translating parts from four other books.
